              2011 VICTORIAN SCHOOLS' GARDEN AWARD

We received a Barwon South Western Region "Achievement Award" in Category 1 - Primary & Special Schools with 100 pupils or less. Our school is proud to be recognised for our attractive garden and grounds.

This success is an acknowledgement of the fantastic work undertaken by students and staff to maintain and further develop our outside learning environment. Congratulations to everyone in our school community who helped us achieve this Award.

 
         SCHOOL PROFESSIONAL LEARNING SCHOLARSHIP

Sharon Bennett was the inaugural recipient of a school awarded Professional Learning Scholarship. The Scholarship provided the necessary funding and support to undertake a 'Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety.'

Sharon successfully completed her course in 2011 and appreciated the support and assistance she received from this new intiative introduced by the Colac Specialist School Council.

Sharon found the course extremely informative and believes the knowledge she has acquired will help support our school to implement highly effective Occupational Health and Safety practices.
